Sheriff Civilian Oversight Commission
The Sheriff Civilian Oversight Commission provides independent civilian review of the Sierra Vista County Sheriff's Department. The seven-member commission reviews citizen complaints, examines use-of-force incidents, audits department policies, and makes recommendations for reform to the Board of Supervisors and Sheriff. Members are appointed by individual supervisors and serve staggered three-year terms. The Commission meets on the third Thursday at 6:00 PM and publishes an annual report on its findings. The Commission is committed to promoting accountability, transparency, and trust between law enforcement and the community.
