Barbara Kline

Barbara Kline chairs the Sheriff Civilian Oversight Commission. A retired Superior Court judge who served 16 years on the bench, she brings unparalleled expertise in law, due process, and impartial fact-finding. Judge Kline earned her J.D. from Boalt Hall (UC Berkeley) and her B.A. from Wellesley College. She leads the Commission's review of citizen complaints, use-of-force incidents, and department policies, ensuring accountability while maintaining fairness to all parties.
