Assessment Appeals Board

The Assessment Appeals Board hears property tax assessment appeals filed by property owners in Sierra Vista County. The three-member board is appointed by the Board of Supervisors and meets on the second Monday of each month during the appeal filing season (typically July through November) and as needed for continued hearings. Members must complete state-mandated training in property tax law and appraisal methodology. The Board provides a fair and impartial hearing process for taxpayers who believe their property has been over-assessed.
